Celebrating Teachers’ Day: Walking in Their Shoes

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” — Brad Henry. On Teachers’ Day this year, our college came alive with a truly immersive celebration of what it means to teach and to learn. Students from every department took on the mantle of teachers—each choosing a faculty member to “step into the classroom” for the day. They taught real lessons, gaining firsthand insight into the dedication, patience, and skill required to guide others. We even recreated a staff room for the occasion, giving students a taste of the behind the scenes life of educators. Leadership roles were simulated too: some students played the parts of Director, Principal, and Campus Director, while Heads of Departments (HODs) observed and experienced the challenges of managing curricula, coordinating students, and keeping everything running smoothly. The staff room was decorated with balloons and a beautiful floral display spelling out “Happy Teachers’ Day”—a gesture of warmth and respect. The day closed on a high note: awards were given to students from each department who delivered the best lectures, followed by a joyful mini food party. It was a memorable day that deepened our appreciation for teachers and strengthened our sense of community, responsibility, and gratitude.
